Please support your child with learning these over the week. Thank you! Here are some different ways you can practise the spellings -  Maths Each week there will be Maths homework assigned to the children on Maths.co.uk.           We have had a great week. We started off the week thinking about nouns and how to describe them. The children went around the classroom on a noun hunt to find all the nouns. We then came up with some adjectives to describe them. The children used these nouns and adjectives to write about their classrooms on a postcard. They were really proud of their work!  We have also been busy learning about remembrance. They made poppy craft items to show in a special remembrance assembly on Tuesday. It was so good to see you all at the parent consultations. Have a lovely weekend!

Hard work and reflections in Class 4

We have had a busy and reflective week in Class 4. The children contributed beautifully to the school’s Remembrance Service on Tuesday. They wrote moving poems about Remembrance and shared these during the service. The poems have come home today, and the children will no doubt be proud to share them with you. In English, the class has continued working on our explanation texts unit. The children have been using their own inventions to support their learning, writing clear explanation steps using technical language. They have also written well-structured paragraphs with fronted adverbials, explaining to their readers why their inventions are essential in everyday life. In PE, we have been creating shapes with our bodies and developing our hockey skills. In Geography, we have explored how mountains are formed and continued to build our understanding of how the Earth itself was formed. Homework for this half term has been sent home and is also posted on the blog. We look forward to se...

Our Busy week in reception

Reception Class Weekly Blog   What a busy and exciting week we’ve had in Reception! The children have been working so hard across all areas of their learning — we are so proud of them! 🐸 Phonics This week, we began level  3 phonics and learned some brand-new sounds: j, v, w, x, y . The children enjoyed learning the actions that go with each sound and have been practising blending these sounds together to read CVC words such as jam, vet, win, and box . We have also continued to practise our tricky words : I, no, go, the, and to . The children are getting more confident at spotting these in their reading books and writing them independently. 🔢 Maths In maths, we have been practising subitising amounts to 4 — recognising how many without needing to count each object. The children revisited the concepts of ‘more than’ and ‘fewer than’ by comparing groups of up to 3 objects and matching them 1:1 . They have been fantastic at spotting when there is an equal ...

Write a paragraph describing your animal’s habitat, diet, and one interesting fact. 2. Research & Report Pick a topic you’re interested in (e.g., volcanoes, space, a country, a famous person, an invention). Use books, the internet, or magazines to research facts.
