Class 3 had the opportunity to present their creative homework projects to the class this afternoon.  It was very impressive to see the effort they had put in and their enthusiasm about their topic of interest. They showed amazing oracy skills, speaking with confidence and clarity! A huge well done to all who participated. It was an absolute pleasure to see! Well done Class 3! Miss Baker

Forest School Fun for Reception

Image
Reception Class Forest School We had a lovely last session of the year this afternoon, with lots of fun, games, collaborative play and communication. We rounded off the year with some s’mores, so the children set to work whittling their marshmallow cooking sticks. Once ready, they toasted their marshmallows on the fire before sandwiching them between some very melted chocolate biscuits! They were still delicious! Wishing you all a very lovely final week and a wonderful summer holidays. I hope you are able to spend some time being wild and free with your children! Best wishes, Mrs Rassell.

Class 2's wonderful week

We have had a lovely week full of learning and fun! It was a pleasure to see so many of you at our Open Door event. In English, we have been reading an adventure story called We're Going to Find the Monster . The children have been describing their own monsters and planning their own stories. Their imaginations have really come to life with some super scary creatures—I can't wait to read their stories next week! In Maths, we have been working on Statistics. The children have drawn block diagrams, pictograms, and tally charts with growing confidence. In Geography, we have been learning about UK coastlines, with a focus on the Jurassic Coast. The children created engaging and informative posters about the physical and human features of the area, highlighting all the amazing things to experience there. In PE, we enjoyed playing tennis in the shady playground—perfect for the warm weather! Have a wonderful weekend! Class 2 Team

A Week of Sharing, Stories, and Science!

A Week of Sharing, Stories, and Science! What a wonderful week we’ve had in Class One! One of the highlights of the week was our Open Door event , where the children had the chance to proudly share their learning with the adults. It was lovely to see their confidence shine as they talked about their work and showed off everything they’ve been working so hard on this term. Thank you to everyone who came – it meant so much to the children! In English, we’ve been enjoying the story "We're Going to Find a Monster!" The children absolutely loved the adventure and were full of imaginative ideas. They designed their own brilliant monsters – some scary, some funny, and all fantastically creative! They then labelled their drawings using descriptive words. Year One children took this even further by planning their own version of the story using a story mountain , thinking carefully about the beginning, build-up, problem, resolution, and ending. In Science , we recapped the f...

Year 6 Enterprise

Year 6 Enterprise This week, our brilliant Year 6 students have been working incredibly hard on their Enterprise projects, and what an amazing success it’s been! Full of creativity, teamwork, and determination, they launched their very own mini businesses to raise money, and the results were nothing short of spectacular. From delicious cake pops and lemon drizzle slices to handmade bracelets and balloon animals, the stalls were buzzing with excitement. The football game drew plenty of competitive spirit, while the claw machine added extra fun for everyone. It was inspiring to see the students taking initiative, solving problems, and engaging customers with enthusiasm. We’d also like to say a huge thank you to all the families, friends, and pupils who supported the event - whether by buying products on the day, helping to make them, or simply cheering our young entrepreneurs on. You helped make this a truly memorable experience. Well done Year 6 - amazing stuff! Mrs Campbell 💚

Toast and jam at Forest School! We had a fantastic time this afternoon filled with fun and lots activity. At the start, the children enjoyed playing a game of 1,2,3 Where Are You? It was very difficult not to peek to see where the hider was hiding whilst we counted to 20!  After that, the children chose from all the lovely opportunities available. We had some mud kitchen creations, some den building and lots of sharing and communication on the rope swing as children pulled the rope to swing their friends. We also had a fire and whittled some willow sticks so that we could make toast on them over the flames. The children then chose to eat their toast off the stick or spread butter and jam on it before eating. At the end of the session all the children shared what they had enjoyed and what they would like to do next week…s’mores featured heavily in the requests! Wishing you a wonderful week, Mrs Rassell

Year 6 Forest School

Fun at Forest School Year 6 had another lovely day for Forest School today. We began with a Barefoot Walk, which was especially inviting (for some) because of the damp grass. Most of the children tried the activity, some loved it and others not so much! It was great to try new things and get out of our comfort zones sometimes in, as well as notice the sensations and our feelings about them. After that the children were busy with their chosen activities. Some experimented with making a challenging see-saw and staying balanced on it. Others chose whittling projects including secret elder pots and an elder duck caller. We also prepared and cooked Forest School doughnuts on the fire which seemed to be a hit and had the children queueing up waiting to cook. At the end of the session, the children shared the moments when they felt happiest from the morning. It was great to hear their reflections and important for the children to identify happiness and note what it was that led them to f...
