Year 4 Times Tables practice

Over the Easter holidays, a little regular practice of times tables can really help your child feel confident for the upcoming Multiplication Tables Check (MTC).  Short, fun sessions (5–10 minutes a day) using games, apps, or quick-fire questions can make a big difference. The children have their TTRS log ins and practice can also be done via these free websites: https://www.timestables.co.uk/multiplication-tables-check/  https://urbrainy.com/mtc https://www.timestables.co.uk/ Thank you for your support.

Easter wishes from Class 4

This week we have been busy wrapping up our learning across all subjects. In English, we have focused on learning the features of Haikus and writing our own. The children did a fantastic job, carefully choosing nouns, verbs, and adjectives for each of the seasons, and creating beautiful poems using the skills they have developed. In Geography, we have brought together our learning on rainforests to produce detailed fact files, showcasing all the knowledge we have gained. In Maths, we have spent time securing our understanding of comparing and ordering fractions. The children have worked very hard and shown great progress in this area of their learning. We also completed our RE learning, where we explored why Christians call the day Jesus died Good Friday. We have learned about the events leading up to Jesus’ death and reflected thoughtfully on their meaning. We hope you all have a lovely break, and hopefully enjoy some Easter sunshine! Class 4 Team

Easter Learning Highlights in Class One

We have had a wonderfully busy and exciting week in Reception, filled with lots of Easter-themed learning and activities. In our topic work, the children have been learning about the Easter story. We explored the meaning of Palm Sunday, learnt about palm leaves, and even practised saying the word “Hosannah.” We also discussed how Easter is celebrated around the world and looked at Christian Easter gardens. As part of our geography learning, we located Jerusalem on a map and explored images of what it looks like today. We talked about the tradition of giving eggs at Easter and how this links to the Easter story. The children especially enjoyed taking part in an egg hunt in our class garden—there was lots of excitement and fun! In Science, we have been learning about spring and the idea of new life, noticing changes in the world around us. The children also enjoyed a range of creative activities, including making Easter headbands, colouring, and creating Easter cards. In Maths, we h...

Class 3 World Math's Day

Image
Class 3 had an amazing time celebrating World Math's Day!  They were introduced to tessellation and explored both 2D shapes. They learned that tessellation is when shapes fit perfectly together without any gaps or overlaps, and the children loved discovering how this appears in everyday life. From wall tiles and brick patterns to nature’s wonders like honeycombs and pineapples. They also looked at examples in architecture, such as buildings like London’s Gherkin, and even in toys like Lego bricks and kaleidoscopes. To finish, the class had great fun creating their own colourful tessellating designs using 2D shapes. The results were fantastic! Well done, Class 3!
