Class 4’s Great Week

Class 4’s Great Week! Class 4 have had a great week taking part in many different learning opportunities and fun activities! Science and PSHE In Science and PSHE, we have been looking at the life cycle of a mammal. The pupils enjoyed looking at the different baby mammals and creating their own human life cycle in the books, they were amazing. RE  What matters to you? This Wednesday, Class 4 thought about what was important in life and what matters to them. This was a brilliant lesson filled with open and honest discussions about what is important to different people and why. The pupils were respectful of other peoples beliefs and asked insightful questions to help them understand why. Great lesson, well done! Have a lovely weekend. Miss Barber :)

Class 2’s busy, sunny week

Image
We have been very busy as always in Class 2 this week. We have been writing our own Lighthouse Keeper porobekms solving stories, where the children came up with their own problems and solutions for the Grinling’s and Hamish. The children published their stories today, writing up their work in their best handwriting. We competed a maths mystery challenge on Monday and the children all worked together to use their place value knowledge to complete clues and find the culprit. Year 2 completed their unit on Mass, Capacity and Volume and have started a new unit on Time. Year 1 have been grouping and counting in 10s  and place value in tens and hundreds.  In Science we continued our learning on Magnetism by investigating how magnets attract and repel.  In ICT we have been designing 3D cities, which the children have loved doing! In DT the children designed and made their lunchboxes to extend their learning on the Lighthouse Keeper stories and they have been very creative.  In Art, the child

Key Stage 1 Beach trip

On Wednesday we had the pleasure of taking Classes 1 and 2 to Walton on the Naze for a fabulous day at the beach. The children behaved wonderfully all day - always ready, respectful and safe which meant we could all have a great time.  Despite the tide being in when we arrived, we found the perfect patch of sand and all the buckets and spades we could wish for. Then the children enjoyed building sandcastles, paddling, digging moats and just being at the seaside.  Well done to both classes for their listening and safe behaviour. It was a joy to see you playing together so beautifully.
