Class 2's great week back

Welcome back Class 2!

We have had a busy first week back where we have been exploring the Lighthouse Keeper stories. We have read 3 books about Mr and Mrs Grinling and Hamish the cat and their adventures. The characters always face a problem and have to try different ways to find a solution. The children have been really enjoying these stories.

In ICT the children used the chrome books to design animal shelters. They needed to use the mousepad to move items around, select colours and features to make the best home for lots of animals. They loved it!

In Maths the Year 2's have been learning about capacity and volume and spent some time describing different amounts of water as half full, full, nearly empty, nearly full. 

This afternoon a child in class shared with us all a story they had written at home. The rest of the class was supportive and very interested to listen - which they did beautifully. Well done Joe on your story and everyone else - fab listening.
