Class 3 History and Descriptive Writing
Class 3 Historians
Class 3 proved to be excellent historians this week as we came to the end of our history topic. The children were able to recap everything they remembered about life in Ancient Greece and life in Iron Age Britain.
They worked brilliantly in their groups to discuss and organise their information into categories, such as education, religious beliefs and food and drink. The children then had to compare life in Ancient Greece and life in Iron Age Britain and look at what was similar and what was different. I think we all concluded that there were a lot of gruesome battles and we'd all prefer to be alive now!
This morning the children enjoyed being inspired by the beautiful autumnal scenes we are so lucky to have at Tolleshunt D'Arcy school. We spent some time outside using our senses to notice what was around us; watching the falling leaves and breathing in the woodland smells. We then used our experiences to write a descriptive piece of writing. The aim was for our reader to be able to use our words to recreate the scene in their imagination. There were some beautiful descriptions written.
Wishing you all a lovely half term break.
