Lots of possibilities

In Maths the children were excited to help design a King a new crown by finding all of the possibilities of colouring in its jewels. Year ones also tried to work systematically and learnt about the need of having a method which helps them check for repeats. Reception compared amounts by using the language of more, fewer and the same. They also explored and made comparisons between the weight of objects and used balances. Year one used part whole models and wrote addition number sentences. 

The reception children have learnt the sounds: i, n, m and d.

Year one have been learning the a-e as ai. 

In Geography they made comparisons between hot and cold countries and learnt about Barnaby Bear visiting Mexico.
