Class 2's wonderful week

What a wonderful and busy week we’ve had in Class 2! The children have shown excellent focus and a real eagerness to learn across all subjects. Here's a look at what we've been up to:

Maths
This week, we began our new unit on Shape. We explored both 2D and 3D shapes, and it was fantastic to see how much the children remembered from Year 1! Together, we counted sides and vertices, and even looked for vertical lines of symmetry. The children showed great enthusiasm and accuracy in their work.

English
In English, we continued developing our story-writing skills. Building on what we've learned so far, the children are now planning their own stories, using their imaginations and creativity to bring their ideas to life.

Science
Our Science lessons focused on bulbs and seeds. We explored the differences between them, and the children were fascinated too look at the seeds and bulbs and compare them.

RE
In RE, we revisited our learning about Hinduism. The children impressed us with their incredible knowledge and enthusiasm! We also created our own Rangoli patterns in preparation for Friday's school-wide collective worship celebrating World Religion Day. The children’s patterns were absolutely beautiful and a testament to their creativity.

History
We delved deeper into the story of the Wright brothers, discussing the immense significance of their work and their first successful flight in 1903. The children worked in groups to imagine how the Wright brothers might have felt on that historic day, as well as the thoughts and reactions of those who witnessed it. Their ideas and role-play were insightful and engaging!

Collective Worship
A big well done to the children who confidently introduced our class's Rangoli patterns during Friday afternoon’s collective worship. We are so proud of their efforts and the creativity they showcased throughout the week.

It’s been a joy to see the children so engaged in their learning this week. Well done, Year 2!
