Forest School Class 1
Forest School Fun!
The Reception and Year 1 children had their Forest School sessions today with lots of muddy fun and adventure had by all.
The children enjoyed challenging themselves on the trapeze, rope walk and rope swing and used some good problem-solving and resilience to work out how to get onto these. Some of the children tried their hand at using a flint and steel to make sparks or set fire to cotton wool. We also made bird feeders which involved halving oranges, drinking the delicious juice and then filling the halves with a mixture of lard and bird seed ready for the birds to eat during this cold weather. We even had a robin visiting us during the session to pick up the seeds which had been dropped.
At the end of the session we came together to share what we enjoyed and suggested what we could do in future sessions. I'd like to extend a big thank you to our lovely volunteers who came with such positivity to the sessions and enjoyed themselves almost as much as the children!
Thank you for all your support for Forest School. I hope your children come home and tell you all about what they have been up to today.
Best wishes,
Mrs Rassell
