Firelighting and Cooking at Forest School

Forest School Cooking with Class 1

Class 1 had lots of fun cooking on the fire today. Both groups made smores and had a go at whittling their sticks of willow to toast the marshmallows on, before sandwiching it between two chocolate biscuits. Some of the Year 1 children made toffee apples on the fire too. Delicious!

We had lots of fun in the new hammock and embraced the mud; for some of the children this seemed to be literally, as they were smothered in it! Many of them also said that getting muddy was when they had the most fun in the session. We managed to keep warm with some fun games, lots of  child-led learning and challenging ourselves on the swing, rope walk and rope ladder.

Best wishes for a lovely week,

Mrs. Rassell
