Class 2's amazing week
What a fantastic week we’ve had in Class 2!
English
This week in English, we have been writing our own stories. We started off feeling a little grumpy, then walked to a place we love, where we met a friendly character of our own invention. The children's ideas have been wonderful—from trips to Greggs and the donut shop to adventures in the park and even school! Their creativity has really shone through in their writing.
RE
In RE, we have begun learning about Easter and its importance to Christians. The children listened to Bible stories about Easter and explored why this time of year is linked to Spring and new life. They have been asking thoughtful questions and making great connections between what they have learned and what they see in nature.
PE
During PE, we read Penguin Small and used dance to express his emotions—especially his nervousness about jumping into the water! The children worked brilliantly to keep in time and count to 8 as they moved through their routine.
DT
Exciting plans are underway in DT! The children have been designing their own Ferris wheels, carefully choosing the best materials to build them. Next week, they will begin constructing their models, and we can’t wait to see the results. Keep an eye out for pictures soon!
Science
Today, we had a wonderful afternoon observing our two cress plants. We investigated how sunlight (or the lack of it) affects their growth. The children were fascinated by the changes and spoke so knowledgeably about how plants need sunlight to make food. They have been taking such great care of their plants—it’s lovely to see their enthusiasm for science!
We hope you enjoy the pictures below of our exciting week. See you next week for more learning and fun!
