Class One

They collected natural objects and created their own pictures and sculptures. They also went on a colour hunt, trying to find natural things that were different colours on a colour wheel.
In maths, reception children have been learning about the numbers 9 and 10. They have counted a set of objects using small world apparatus and then transferred their learning to representing 9 and 10 on a tens frame. They also found one more and one less and started thinking about bonds to 10. Year one have been measuring in maths by exploring length and height.
In English the children have been learning about rhythm. Year one listened to a selection of poetry and then wrote a shared poem. Reception children also listened to Little Red Riding Hood story and tried to write sentences about it using capital letters and full stops.
