Forest School Class 2
Forest School
Forest School was a lovely event once again today, despite the bitter cold! Both groups chose their own tree today to study in detail using all their senses (except taste!) We all then spoke to the group about our chosen tree and what we had noticed. It was a lovely calm and mindful activity to begin the session with and for the children to really build their relationships with the Forest School space.
The session was filled with lots of activity including whittling and decorating some sticks, fire-lighting, digging and using mud, challenging themselves on the rope walk or sharing the hammock with a friend. During the morning session we even had some more wall building using sticks and mud, which looked very similar to wattle and daub; it was incredibly impressive.
At the end of the session the children reflected on when they felt happy. It was lovely to hear the children consider this. Some talked about finding things challenging but how they still felt happy and others noticed that when friends came to help with something tricky, that felt happy for them.
Wishing you a wonderful week,
Mrs Rassell
