A busy, sunny week in Class 2

What a fantastic week we’ve had in Year 2!

In English, we’ve been enjoying the delightful book Paddington’s Letters. The children have been inspired by Paddington’s charming way with words and have written their own letters.

In Maths, we’ve been exploring Mass and Capacity. The children have enjoyed using scales and containers to weigh and compare different objects. There was lots of excitement as they predicted, measured, and discovered which items were heavier, lighter, or held more or less.

In RE, we continued to build on our understanding of Islam. We’ve been learning about how Muslim people worship and pray. The children asked thoughtful questions and showed great respect and curiosity as we explored the topic together.

A real highlight of the week was our visit from Exotic Encounters! The children were amazed by the fascinating animals they got to see (and some even touch!).

In RSHE, we talked about managing our bigger feelings. We discussed what we can do when we feel cross or upset, and the children shared some great ideas and strategies for staying calm and finding support when they need it.

We ended the week with some PE fun in the sunshine! The children worked on their running and catching skills, enjoying the fresh air and getting active with their friends.

Well done to everyone for a brilliant week.
