Class 2’s busy week
We have had a lovely week in Class 2, trying to stay cool while keeping our wonderful learning going!
In English, we’ve been working hard on our explanation texts. We started by learning about the life cycle of different bugs, then used our imaginations to create our own bugs and write about their life cycles. We’ve also drawn some amazing pictures to go with our writing and have been focusing on using the key features of non-fiction texts – like titles, diagrams, and labelled illustrations.
In Maths, we’ve continued learning about Time. We are building our confidence in telling the time to the hour, half past, quarter past, and quarter to. We’ve also been learning how many hours are in a day – a tricky but fun challenge!
In Science, we’ve been exploring the stages of life for humans. This led to some very thoughtful and engaging conversations about how we grow and change, and what we can do at each stage of our lives.
In PE, we wanted to move our bodies while being sensible in the heat, so we enjoyed a relaxing yoga session together in the hall. The children showed wonderful flexibility and focus, and it was lovely to see how calm, quiet, and mindful everyone was during the session.
In RSHE we’ve been reminding ourselves about the importance of giving each other space. To help practice this, we acted out different scenarios in a drama session, where we explored how situations could be made better by choosing to give each other space and showing respect. The children did a fantastic job of understanding how to solve problems and offered brilliant advice on how to manage situations respectfully.
Well done, Class 2 – another fantastic week of learning and fun. Keep bringing that brilliant energy!
