Class 4 Residential: 23rd June - 25th June 2025

Class 4 Residential

Dear Parents/Carers,

To confirm, drop off is at Mersea Essex Outdoors, Rewsalls Lane, Colchester CO5 8SX at 10am on Monday 23rd June and pick up from Mersea at 2 pm on Wednesday 25th June.

Please see the email, which has been sent to you, with your child(s) kit list.  Some activities require specific clothing.  Please ensure that your child brings swimwear (and a towel) and that their shorts are at least mid-thigh length to ensure that harnesses are comfortable.  They must have at least one pair of closed toe shoes and an additional pair of trainers etc.  No cropped tops please.  No jewellery is permitted to be worn during any activity.  Please remove all jewellery before arriving at Mersea.

Children with hair below their collar line MUST tie this up for activities, so please ensure they have a large supply of hairbands.

They will need to bring a packed lunch with them for their first day, including a refillable water bottle to use throughout their stay.

The children will be given dinner on drop off day, 3 meals on Tuesday plus breakfast and lunch on pick up day.

Please see the email, which has been sent to you, for the contact/medical form just for Residential Trip.  It is vital that you provide us with your child's current full medical needs/conditions (if we do not already have your child’s NHS No on record, I have added this to their form for you to complete.  If you are not sure of this, please contact your GP.)

Any prescription medication must be provided in the original named container, with Pharmacist/GP’s dosage/instructions clearly visible, in a named sealed bag/box for safety.

If your child regularly takes a non-prescriptive medication, i.e. for hayfever, you must speak with myself or Mrs Fowler prior to the trip to make appropriate arrangements.

Snacks – there is a vending machine and the tuck shop is open daily 5 - 7:30pm.

Money – this is at the responsibility of the children.  The staff will not be supervising children’s money.

I have also attached a timetable for the mersea tides.

Strictly no electronic devices, including FitBits or smart watches.  There is no internet access for children at the site.  Any items found will be confiscated and returned to the adult when collecting on Wednesday.  Please check the blog for updates.

Please let us know if you have any further specific questions.

Kind regards

Mrs Campbell
