Wellbeing Forest School Group
This afternoon's session felt very relaxed and contented out at Forest School, with plenty of smiles, concentration and focus on tasks. There were some fantastic examples of children working together, encouraging each other with their endeavours, being kind and looking out for each other. It was a real pleasure to lead the session for the children this afternoon.
We began with a game of Hide and Seek as requested and then played a couple of games of Sardines. It became very quiet as the children found the person they needed to hide with and disappeared to hide with them too!
After that, we had lots of busy children, with some den-building, mud kitchen, see-saw balancing, rope swing and rope walk challenge and careful bug hunting. Lots of the children also tried fire-lighting and we whittled some willow and used it to make charcoal sticks on the fire. I'm looking forward to seeing the artistic sketches the children make with them.
At the end of the session, the children considered when they felt happiest during the afternoon and shared this with the group. It was wonderful to hear how simple moments in the afternoon brought them genuine joy and a sense of achievement.
Wishing you all a wonderful week,
Mrs Rassell
