Year 6 Forest School

 Fun at Forest School

Year 6 had another lovely day for Forest School today. We began with a Barefoot Walk, which was especially inviting (for some) because of the damp grass. Most of the children tried the activity, some loved it and others not so much! It was great to try new things and get out of our comfort zones sometimes in, as well as notice the sensations and our feelings about them.

After that the children were busy with their chosen activities. Some experimented with making a challenging see-saw and staying balanced on it. Others chose whittling projects including secret elder pots and an elder duck caller.

We also prepared and cooked Forest School doughnuts on the fire which seemed to be a hit and had the children queueing up waiting to cook.

At the end of the session, the children shared the moments when they felt happiest from the morning. It was great to hear their reflections and important for the children to identify happiness and note what it was that led them to feel happy.

Wishing you a wonderful week,

Mrs Rassell.
