Class Two's first week back

 

What a busy and exciting week we have had in Year 1 and 2!

The children have enjoyed seeing their friends again and getting to know their new classroom. We have also made a great start with our phonics. Year 1 have been learning the sound “ay” as in play and stay, while Year 2 have been learning the sound “y” as in fly and spy.

In English, we have started writing about our new class book Frog and the Stranger, and the children are already sharing some fantastic ideas. Everyone now has a new reading book in their bags to enjoy at home. Twinkl reading books, along with log-ins, will be sent out next week.

A little reminder: please make sure your child has a full PE kit in school. Our PE days are Wednesday and Friday, and earrings should be removed at home.

Well done to everyone for a wonderful start to the term – we are looking forward to another great week ahead!
