Welcome Back Class 5!

Welcome back! We hope you all had a wonderful 6 weeks and have made some amazing memories. We can't wait to hear about everything you have all been up to!

We wanted to share with you some information about Class 5 that you will need to know about for the academic year of 2025/2026.

Homework

There will be Maths and Spelling homework set each week. 

For Maths we use a website called Maths.co.uk. There will be a letter being sent home this week with your child, which will have their log in details and instructions to help you use the site. The topics will be blogged and set each Friday, due in for the following Friday.

Each week the spellings will be blogged on a Friday for the children to practise over the week for their weekly spelling test on the following Friday.

Creative Homework - each term we will set a range of activities for the pupils to pick from to complete at home. These are aimed to be creative, independent and give the pupils freedom to explore. This will be on the blog and your child will be bringing home a paper copy by the end of this as well. 

As a parent/carer, we understand that sometimes homework can be challenging to fit into a busy week with other curricular activities, but any support and encouragement would be greatly appreciated to help expand your child's knowledge and opportunities. 

PE

Each week there will 2 PE lessons.

Outdoor PE will take place on a Tuesday PM. This PE kit should consist of a pair of shorts, plain sports top (no football kits/tops), a pair of indoor trainers and socks. Please ensure your child brings their PE kit every week.

Indoor PE will take place on a Friday PM. This PE kit should consist of a pair of shorts (summer), a pair of tracksuit/jogging bottoms, plain sports top (no football kits/tops), a pair of outdoor trainers and socks. Please ensure your child brings their PE kit every week.

Please don't panic if you do not have the exact kit, as long as the pupils can safely and comfortably participate in PE then it's fine. If you have any questions or concerns about PE kit please let us know.
