Forest School fun

Forest School looked a little different today! The rain had made the leaves and grass soft and soggy, and before starting our activities, we had a lovely conversation about how the rain had changed our area. The children noticed how different it looked and felt compared to previous weeks, when the ground was covered in crunchy leaves and crisp grass. They always love talking about what they can see, hear, and feel in nature!

We had some wonderful whittling today — the children showed great perseverance and really worked on improving their techniques. They also made and decorated beautiful crowns using willow and leaves, which looked fantastic!

Throughout the session, the children were busy exploring — moving sticks, digging, transporting soil, and enjoying every part of our Forest School area.

It has been a wonderful half term with the children. Over the past eight weeks, they have grown in confidence, skill, and curiosity. We’re so proud of how much they’ve learned and how connected they’ve become to the natural world.
