A busy first week back in Class 2!
We have had a lovely first week back after the half term. We have been learning to write descriptively in English; we looked at a beautiful landscape picture and then encouraged the children to talk about what they could see. The children then wrote some creative sentences with lots of describing words. In PE, we have continued our gymnastics unit. The children practised their balances with crab walks, camel walks and bunny hops. They had a great time and worked hard! In Spanish, we have started a new unit about animals that live in the jungle. The children learned the Spanish word for monkey (el mono) and created pictures to help them remember.
We have also introduced the children to our nativity, 'Little Angel Gets Her Wings'. The children were sent home with a piece of paper explaining their role in the play and costume requirements. If your child has lines to say in the play, they will have also brought a script home. We would be so grateful if the children could practise these lines at home and then bring the script into school ready for rehearsals next week.
It was great to see so many parents during our open door event on Thursday. I look forward to seeing you all again on Wednesday for our parent consultation meetings.
Have a lovely weekend.
