Remembrance Service

Remembrance Service

Today, our school came together for a very special Remembrance Service to honour and remember those who have served and sacrificed for our country. The service was a meaningful and reflective occasion, giving everyone the opportunity to pause, think and show their respect. We were delighted to welcome Revd Jo and Andy, who joined us for the service and helped to make it such a memorable event. A particular welcome goes to Rev Jo, who led her very first service with us - thank you for being part of our school community and sharing this important moment.

Each class contributed beautifully through their Remembrance learning and creative work. Class 1 made a stunning poppy wreath, carefully placing each hand to symbolise love and remembrance. Class 2 designed poppy pins, which they held proudly during the service. Class 3 wrote thoughtful and touching poppy poems, expressing gratitude and reflection in their own words. Class 4 created moving acrostic poems, capturing the meaning of remembrance with creativity and care. Class 5 prepared heartfelt poppy prayers and made poppy badges to share with others.

Throughout the week, the children showed great respect, empathy, and understanding as they learned about the importance of Remembrance Day and the sacrifices made by so many. Their efforts and reflections truly demonstrated the values of our school community - kindness, respect, and gratitude.

We are incredibly proud of all the children and thankful to everyone who helped make the service such a thoughtful and memorable occasion.
