Merry Christmas, Class 2!
We have had a wonderful Christmas week. We started the week with Pyjama Day, which doubled up as an exciting fruit-themed day. The children learned about the difference between fruits and vegetables and worked hard while completing fruit-themed addition and subtraction activities.
To end the day, we made our own smoothies. The children were fascinated as they watched the blender whizz around, and even more excited when it was time to taste the delicious drinks they had helped to make.
In English, we have been reading Last Stop on Market Street, a story about a little boy’s journey through town and everything he hears and sees along the way. Inspired by the book, we went on our own sensory walk around the school field. The children carefully noticed the sights and sounds and then wrote about their experiences. There was some very thoughtful and descriptive writing, and we are so proud of their work.
Wishing you all a very happy Christmas. Thank you for your generous gifts! From Miss Kerwick, Miss Houlding and Mrs Farrant.
