A busy week in Class 4

We have had a  busy week in Class 4!

Year 4 enjoyed a fantastic morning at Forest School, making the most of the outdoors and developing their teamwork and problem-solving skills. Meanwhile, Year 5 worked hard back in class with Miss Taylor and showed great focus and enthusiasm in their learning.

In English, we are thoroughly enjoying our class text, Leon and the Place Between. The magical world of portal stories has captured our imaginations! The children have been learning how to use powerful vocabulary, write engaging story openers, and correctly punctuate dialogue between characters. We are so impressed with their creativity already and know that their own portal stories are going to be absolutely wonderful.

Across the curriculum, we have started some exciting new units. In Geography, we have begun learning about rainforests, exploring where they are located and why they are so important to our planet. In RE, we have been discussing the significance of Good Friday for Christians and reflecting thoughtfully on its meaning.

In PE, we have been keeping active with dance sessions and developing our tennis skills. It has been fantastic to see such energy, determination and teamwork on display.

Finally, this afternoon we launched our new programming unit in Computing. The children learned how to write short pieces of code to create shapes and numbers in a computer programme. They showed great perseverance and curiosity as they experimented and solved problems.

What a brilliant week it has been!

Wishing everyone a restful and enjoyable weekend 🌼
