We’ve had a fantastic week of learning!

In English, we have been reading Julian Is a Mermaid — a beautiful story all about a boy who loves mermaids and has the most wonderful imagination. Inspired by the story, they have been busy developing their own writing, focusing especially on using exciting adjectives and powerful verbs to make their sentences more descriptive and engaging. 

In Maths, we have been working on doubling and halving numbers. The children have been using practical resources and drawings to help them understand these concepts more clearly. Our Year 2s have taken this learning even further by linking doubling and halving to multiplication and division by 2 — a fantastic way to deepen their understanding and make connections across their learning.

We finished off the week with the start of our brand-new PE unit on football. The children were full of energy and enthusiasm as they practised their ball control skills and teamwork. It’s safe to say there were lots of smiles on the playground!
