Maths Magic! - Class 2 and Class 5 

This week, our Class 5 pupils became game designers and teachers as they created fun and interactive games to help practise counting in 2s, 5s and 10s. The children worked in small groups to plan, design and build their own games, thinking carefully about how to make the rules clear, the challenges exciting and the learning meaningful.

Once the games were ready, Class 5 had a very special job – supporting our Class 2 pupils as they explored the games and practised their counting sequences. The older children showed fantastic patience, kindness and leadership, explaining the rules clearly and encouraging their younger partners every step of the way. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they took on the role of teacher and role model.

Class 2 pupils were equally impressive. They listened carefully, joined in enthusiastically and showed great determination as they counted forwards in 2s, 5s and 10s through play. Learning through games made the sessions lively, purposeful and full of smiles.

Well done to both classes for working together so positively. Class 5 showed responsibility and creativity, while Class 2 demonstrated brilliant effort and resilience. A truly successful and enjoyable learning experience for everyone involved.
