Muddy Boots and Toasty Treats

It was another muddy forest school session this week, but we were lucky as the sun came out and the rain stayed away. Once again, we enjoyed spending time in the forest and making the most of everything it had to offer.

This week we cooked some delicious treats on the fire, including s’mores and toasted crumpets. The children carefully whittled sticks ready to hold their food over the fire and waited patiently and safely for their turn, showing great focus and responsibility.

The rope swing was a big hit, as always, along with the ever-popular mud kitchen, where lots of imaginative play took place. Many of the children also worked together on their bug hotel, moving branches and other natural materials around the site to create and improve their build. It was lovely to see such teamwork and cooperation.

We also talked about the importance of looking after our forest school area by picking up litter, tidying up properly after each session, and taking care of our resources so everyone can continue to enjoy the space.

Another fantastic session full of learning, teamwork, and muddy fun!
