Year 4 Forest School fun

What a truly wonderful morning we had at Forest School this week! With the sun shining brightly and the air feeling beautifully warm, it was the perfect way to settle back into our woodland site together. The children were so happy to be back, and it was lovely to see them reconnecting with the space and with one another.

As always, their creativity led the way. The children created their own activities, spending quality time together, sharing ideas, and building on each other’s imaginations. It’s always such a joy to watch their confidence grow as they take ownership of their learning and play.

We were very kindly gifted some beautiful willow from a parent helper (thank you so much!). The children were incredibly excited to use it for whittling, carefully shaping their own marshmallow sticks ready for the fire. There was such a sense of pride as they prepared their sticks and then used them to toast marshmallows for delicious s’mores around the campfire.

Elsewhere around the site, there was plenty of exploration and adventure. The mud kitchen was a hive of activity, with all sorts of imaginative creations being mixed and served. Dens and cosy nests appeared amongst the trees, built with teamwork and determination. The rope swing was, of course, a firm favourite, bringing lots of laughter and squeals of delight.

Some children even designed their own balancing games using wooden planks, challenging themselves and each other while working together so beautifully. It was wonderful to see such cooperation, encouragement, and resilience as they tested their ideas and supported one another.

We hope you enjoy looking through the photos from our lovely morning as much as we enjoyed living it! 🌿✨
