Class 2's weekly blog
In Class 2, we have been very busy lately, and there has been lots of excitement in our classroom!
One of the highlights has definitely been our Design and Technology project, where the children have been making their own miniature working Ferris wheels. This hands-on activity helped them understand how a wheel and axle mechanism works, but it didn’t stop there—everyone added their own creative flair! It has been wonderful to see the different designs come to life, and the children have been so proud of their creations.
In English, we have started exploring a new poetry book, which the class has really enjoyed so far. We read a poem about a pet cat and another poem about a grandpa, and used them to learn about similes and how they can make descriptions more vivid and engaging. The children then had a go at creating their own similes, which they used in a poem about someone special to them. They all did incredibly well, and it was lovely to see such thoughtful and imaginative writing.
Well done, Class 2, for all your hard work and creativity!
