Class 3 World Math's Day
Class 3 had an amazing time celebrating World Math's Day!
They were introduced to tessellation and explored both 2D shapes. They learned that tessellation is when shapes fit perfectly together without any gaps or overlaps, and the children loved discovering how this appears in everyday life. From wall tiles and brick patterns to nature’s wonders like honeycombs and pineapples.
They also looked at examples in architecture, such as buildings like London’s Gherkin, and even in toys like Lego bricks and kaleidoscopes.
To finish, the class had great fun creating their own colourful tessellating designs using 2D shapes. The results were fantastic!
Well done, Class 3!
