Class 4 Creative Homework
Here are the creative homework tasks for over the Easter holidays and beyond. The children gave their suggestions for projects they would like to undertake.
Please send in any completed work after the Easter holidays and we will give the children a chance to present one of their projects to the class. The children can complete as many of the tasks as they would like to. Please try and complete at least 2 tasks.
1. All About Me Project
Create a page, poster, or small booklet about yourself.
You could include:
Your favourite hobbies or activities
Your favourite food, book, or place
Your family or pets
Your goals or dreams for the future
You may include drawings, photos, labels, or short paragraphs.
2. My Hobby or Interest Drawing
Create a detailed drawing about one of your hobbies or interests.
For example: football, dancing, gaming, reading, art, cooking, or music.
You could:
Label different parts of the picture
Add facts about the hobby
Write a few sentences explaining why you enjoy it.
3. Create a Comic Story
Write and illustrate your own comic strip.
Think about:
A main character
A problem or adventure
A beginning, middle, and ending
Use speech bubbles, captions, and colourful illustrations.
4. Building or Construction
Design and build something using materials you have at home.
Examples could include:
A bridge or tower
A model house or building
A vehicle or invention
You can use Lego, cardboard, recycled materials, wood, or craft materials.
Bring a photo (not the model itself!) or drawing of your creation and label the different parts.
5. Create a Crossword Puzzle
Design a crossword puzzle based on a topic you enjoy.
For example: animals, space, sports, books, or geography.
Include:
At least 8–10 words
Clues for each word
An answer sheet.
6. Make an Animation
Create a short animation using any method you like.
Ideas include:
Stop-motion using toys or Lego
A flipbook animation
A digital animation using an app
Your animation should show a short story or movement.
7. Sculpture or Origami Creation
Make a sculpture or origami model.
You could use:
Clay or playdough
Recycled materials
Paper folding (origami)
Bring a photo or your model and write a short description explaining what you made and how you created it.
8. Nature Explorer Project
Spend some time exploring nature outdoors.
You could:
Draw or photograph plants, insects, or animals you see
Make a leaf or flower collection
Create a nature collage
Write a few facts or observations about what you discovered.
9. Science Investigation Project
Plan and carry out your own simple science investigation at home.
You could investigate questions such as:
Which material keeps water the warmest?
Which paper aeroplane flies the furthest?
Do bigger paper helicopters fall faster or slower?
Which surface makes a toy car travel the fastest?
Which foods dissolve fastest in water?
Your investigation should include:
The Aim – What question are you trying to answer?
Prediction – What do you think will happen? Why?
Method – What did you do? Describe the steps you followed.
Results – Record what happened. You could use a table, diagram, tally chart, or bar chart.
Observations – What patterns did you notice?
Conclusion – What did you learn from your investigation?
10. Map Maker Project
Draw and label a map of a real or imaginary place. Include a key, symbols, and important landmarks.
