Class 4 World Book Day
It was wonderful to see the children in class in their World Book Day costumes today! We enjoyed using our computing skills to create presentations about our favourite book or the character we had dressed up as. Some of the children were able to share their presentations with the rest of the class.
We have also enjoyed linking our World Book Day activities to the story The Tale of Two Shoes, which features two shoes who are separated and whose lives take different paths. The story has strong messages about kindness and friendship, and to celebrate this we got creative this afternoon by designing our own shoes with themes of spreading kindness and friendship. The designs are beautiful and the messages are really touching.
We then revisited our learning about charities and what they do. We talked about kindness and empathy and how charities support people who need help. The children then designed their own charities and created posters advertising their aims and how they would raise money. Once again, the children had so many thoughtful ideas for raising money and awareness for worthy causes and for improving the lives of others.
Thank you for your support on this exciting day of celebrating reading and kindness.
