Class 4's busy week

This week has been a very busy and exciting one in our classroom, filled with special events and lots of wonderful learning opportunities.

We were delighted to welcome a visiting author to school. The children really enjoyed hearing about the writing process, how stories are created, and where authors find their inspiration. It was a fantastic opportunity to inspire our young writers and encourage them to think creatively about their own storytelling.

We also had lots of fun celebrating World Book Day! It was wonderful to see the children’s enthusiasm for books and reading. Throughout the day we shared stories, talked about our favourite characters and authors, and celebrated the joy that reading brings.

Year 4's learning continued outdoors this week during Forest School, where the children had the chance to explore, problem-solve, and work together in a natural environment. These sessions help develop teamwork, resilience and curiosity, and the children always enjoy the opportunity to learn outside the classroom.

In English, the children have begun planning their exciting portal stories. They have been developing ideas for magical worlds and thinking carefully about characters, settings and the journey through the portal. We are looking forward to seeing their imaginative ideas develop over the coming weeks.

In Maths, we have completed our learning on length and perimeter. The children have shown great determination when solving problems and explaining their thinking.

In Computing, we have continued our programming unit, where the children are developing their understanding of instructions, sequencing and how programs work. They are becoming increasingly confident at writing code to tell a program what to do and making changes to improve it.

It has been a fantastic week full of creativity, curiosity and collaboration. Well done to everyone for their hard work and enthusiasm!
