Reception Class – This Week’s Learning 🌟
Reception Class – This Week’s Learning 🌟
This week in Reception has been Assessment Week, and the children have been busy showing all the fantastic learning they have been doing this term. They worked really hard and approached all activities with confidence and enthusiasm.
In Phonics, the children practised recognising sounds, blending to read words, and writing letters. We also spent time practising our “one-arm robot” letters, focusing on correct formation.
In Maths, we explored different ways of making 7, using practical resources and counting activities. The children also practised counting and counting beyond 20, subitising, and recalling number facts within 5 as well as number bonds to 10.
Across the week, the children also enjoyed learning through songs and rhymes, which help support their language development and memory.
To celebrate Mother’s Day, the children created beautiful Mother’s Day cards using handprint printing. We hope you liked your cards!
We talked about how mums and mother figures help and care for us, and why it is important to show appreciation and gratitude for the people who support us.
The children should be very proud of themselves for all their hard work this week. Well done, Reception! ⭐
