World Book Day at D'Arcy

World Book Day at D'Arcy

Today at Darcy School we celebrated World Book Day with a special Collective Worship led by Miss Baker. Our focus book was A Tale of Two Shoes, a thoughtful story that helped us explore themes of kindness, differences, and understanding others. Miss Baker read parts of the story and encouraged us to think about how small actions can make a big difference in people’s lives.

During the worship, pupils shared ideas about the characters and what the shoes might represent. It helped us reflect on how everyone’s journey can be different, but we should always treat each other with respect and empathy.

Back in our classrooms, we continued celebrating World Book Day with fun activities linked to reading. Some classes discussed their favourite books, while others completed creative writing, drawing, and storytelling tasks inspired by the story.

World Book Day at Darcy School was a wonderful reminder of how books can bring people together and help us learn important lessons about the world around us.
