World Maths Day 2026

World Maths Day 2026

World Maths Day at Darcy School was a fantastic celebration of creativity and problem-solving across all year groups. Each class explored maths in a unique and engaging way. Class 1 took their learning outdoors, using nature to count, sort, and recognise patterns. Class 2 became detectives in a thrilling maths mystery, solving clues using their numerical skills. Class 3 explored tessellation, creating colourful repeating patterns and discovering how shapes fit together perfectly.

Class 4 combined maths with PE, taking their learning to the playground with active challenges involving counting, timing, and measuring. Meanwhile, Class 5 pushed themselves to the limit by completing a mock SATs, achieving some truly fabulous maths scores. They also enjoyed unwinding with a variety of fun maths board games.

It was a brilliant day that showed how maths can be exciting, creative, and everywhere around us.

A big thank you to Mrs E for organising such a fantastic World Maths Day! Your hard work and creativity made the day exciting, engaging, and memorable for all the children. From outdoor learning to maths mysteries and active challenges, every class had a brilliant time celebrating maths in fun and inspiring ways.
