This terms after school clubs got off to a great start!
Sports club: In this school sports club session, children took part in a fun fitness circuit. They rotated around different activity stations, including skipping, jumping, balancing, and simple strength exercises. The session focused on improving fitness, coordination, and teamwork, while encouraging children to try their best and stay active. Everyone enjoyed the variety of activities and the chance to challenge themselves in a positive, energetic environment. The children then took part in some healthy competition to test their endurance and stamina!
Drama Club: In this school drama club session, children explored the art of puppetry. They learned how to bring puppets to life using movement, voice, and expression, and practised creating different characters and emotions. The group worked together to develop short puppet scenes, focusing on storytelling and teamwork. The session encouraged creativity, confidence, and imaginative play as children experimented with performing in a fun and engaging way.
Gardening Club:In this gardening club session, children learned how to plant watermelon seeds, red pepper seeds, and basil. They explored what plants need to grow, including soil, water, and sunlight, and carefully filled pots with compost before planting their seeds. The children practised gentle watering and talked about how long each plant might take to grow. They enjoyed getting hands-on and are excited to watch their plants develop over time.
Art Club: In this KS1 art club session, children explored Pop Art by learning about Andy Warhol and his famous Marilyn portrait. They looked at how bold colours and repeated images are used in Pop Art, then created their own versions using a simple template of Marilyn’s face. The children experimented with bright, contrasting colours, choosing different combinations to make each piece unique. They enjoyed expressing creativity and learned how artists can transform everyday images into eye-catching artwork.
