A lovely morning with Year 5

We had a lovely, calm and purposeful Forest School session for our final session today. The children put their interests and skills to work straight away, building bases and dens, digging for and making clay, moving pallets and setting up ropes.

Lots of the children came to the session with ideas for equipment they wanted to make from sticks, and Liz supported them to tie pieces together and bring their ideas to life.

We enjoyed both savoury and sweet s’mores for our fireside snack today! Well done to Harry for whittling lots of sticks for us to use, and well done to all of the children for trying something new.

There was even more teamwork on display today, with the children sharing their ideas and communicating with others to achieve their goals. It was wonderful to hear conversations such as, “Where can we move this to?” and “Maybe we can put it here and then go through this way…”

Well done to Year 5 for ending our Forest School sessions on such a positive note. Thank you to the staff and parents who have helped make these sessions so impactful and enjoyable for the children.
