A sunny Forest School for Year 1
What a sunny afternoon for our final Forest School session! Luckily, the trees provided us with plenty of lovely shade, and we had a wonderful time together as always.
The children enjoyed the rope walk and tree climbing, and they also got very creative by making leaf and petal prints onto fabric. Using stones to hammer the fabric over the leaves and petals created some really effective designs. Some children even added sticks as frames to turn their creations into bunting. They were very keen to explore this activity and worked hard to create their prints.
We also enjoyed making both savoury and sweet s’mores on the fire. It was impressive to see so many children willing to try different flavours and ingredients.
It has been a pleasure to have Year 1 in Forest School this half term, and they have all gained so much from the experience. Thank you to the adults and volunteers who have helped make this such an impactful and enjoyable time for the children.
