Barleyland Visit
Class One, and Class Two had a fantastic day on their school trip to Barleylands Farm!
The children were amazingly behaved throughout the whole trip and were shining examples of our school. We were so proud of the way they listened carefully, showed kindness to one another and represented the school so brilliantly wherever they went.
Everyone participated enthusiastically in all of the activities and thoroughly enjoyed the day. One of the highlights was learning how wheat is turned into flour before using the flour to make their own delicious shortbread cookies. The children loved shaping the biscuits into animals and decorating them with raisins.
The tractor ride around the farm was another favourite part of the day! The children had lots of fun riding in the trailer and spotting all the different animals around the farm. They especially enjoyed feeding the sheep and goats and were very excited to see the adorable baby goats and baby geese. They also saw pigs, donkeys and many other farm animals throughout the day.
During the mini beast experience, the children learnt about millipedes, stick insects and snails and were able to see all three up close. They listened carefully and were fascinated by the different creatures.
Although we got a little wet after being caught in a sudden downpour, it certainly did not stop us from having fun and making wonderful memories together!
We hope the children came home full of excitement and told you lots about their fantastic day at the farm.
