Class 5's Resilient Week

Class 5's Resilient Week

This week, Year 6 have shown fantastic resilience and determination in all areas of their learning. In maths, pupils have been working incredibly hard on reasoning skills, tackling challenging problems and explaining their thinking with confidence. Alongside this, they have been practising a range of SPaG skills, strengthening their understanding of spelling, punctuation, and grammar.

To make learning even more engaging, the class enjoyed the exciting game  - Treasure Island, which cleverly combined SPaG practice with a bit of PE. This active approach kept everyone motivated and eager to participate, showing great teamwork and enthusiasm.

To round off a successful week, pupils earned some well-deserved golden time outside, enjoying fresh air and relaxation. The week ended on a calm note with peaceful reading, as the class continued to enjoy their shared class book together.

SPaG

During our SPaG lessons, Year 6 took part in the exciting game - Treasure Island. Pupils moved around while answering grammar and punctuation challenges, combining learning with physical activity. This fun approach boosted engagement, encouraged teamwork, and helped everyone practise key skills in an active and memorable way.

Reading

During our peaceful reading time, Year 6 enjoyed delving into Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Pupils listened attentively and shared their thoughts on the imaginative story. This calm, focused session allowed everyone to relax, develop their comprehension skills, and appreciate the rich language and creativity of this classic tale.

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend! 😊
