Class 2's weekly blog
This week in Class 2, we have had a lovely week of learning and fun!
We started reading a new book called Here I Am. The children were fascinated by it because it is a book with no words! The story is told entirely through pictures and follows a young boy who moves with his family from Busan in Korea to live in America. We explored how the boy might be feeling as he experiences a new country, makes new friends, and discovers different foods and sounds. The children enjoyed discussing the story and interpreting the illustrations, and they will be using the book as inspiration for their writing next week.
In Maths, we have begun learning about time. This week, we focused on the days of the week and the months of the year. To prepare for our learning next week, when we will start telling the time, the children had great fun making their very own clocks. They were very proud of their creations and are excited to use them in future lessons.
We finished the week with a fantastic PE lesson. The children enjoyed practising their running skills on our newly painted running track on the school field. We then worked on our throwing skills with a fun game of Battleships. The children had to throw balls to knock down the opposing team's battleships (cones), which brought lots of excitement and teamwork.
It was a lovely way to end a lovely week, and we are looking forward to another exciting week of learning ahead!
