Forest School Fun in the Shade

We had a lovely morning in the shade at Forest School today.

Our parent helper brought some beautiful flowers, and the children enjoyed pressing the colours from petals and leaves onto fabric. They then transformed their creations into colourful flags, which looked fantastic.

Some of the children worked on making frog sticks, carefully using tools to create divots in sticks they had whittled. They showed great concentration and perseverance while developing their tool skills.

Elsewhere, children worked together to create a wonderful den. They communicated their ideas clearly and collaborated to design a shady area where they could sit and relax. There was some fantastic teamwork, problem-solving and engineering on display!

To help us cool down, we enjoyed a water-based STEM activity led by Miss Krinks. The children were amazed to discover how they could turn the water flow on and off, and the cool spray was very welcome on such a warm day.

We also enjoyed making and eating fruit kebabs. The children carefully chopped their own fruit, using their safety arches and cutting skills to create delicious fruit skewers. It was a wonderful way to stay hydrated and enjoy a healthy snack together.

Thank you to all of the adults who supported us and to the children for another fantastic Forest School session. We had a wonderful morning learning, creating and working together outdoors.
