Class 2's weekly blog

We have had a busy and exciting week in Class 2! Luckily, the weather has been a little cooler, which has helped us stay focused on our learning.

In English, we have been busy planning our superhero stories. The children created their very own superheroes and villains before writing fantastic character descriptions. They worked hard to use a range of adjectives and similes to bring their characters to life, and we have been so impressed with their creativity.

In Maths, we have been exploring measurement. The children learned how to measure mass using grams and kilograms, and today we investigated measuring liquids in millilitres while learning about volume and capacity. Next week, we will be learning about temperature, which will help the children understand the high temperatures we have been experiencing this summer.

In R.E., we learned about Tikkun Olam, the Jewish teaching of "healing the world." The children thought carefully about the different ways they can help make the world a better place. They shared thoughtful ideas such as recycling, picking up litter, and looking after the environment to help keep our world clean and healthy.

Finally, we all thoroughly enjoyed Sports Day! Although it was a very hot day, it was also lots of fun. We were incredibly proud of every child for joining in, challenging themselves, showing great determination, and trying their very best. Well done to everyone for making it such a fantastic day!

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to another week of learning and fun in Class 2!
