Year 3 Fantasy School Designs
This morning, inspired by the Roald Dahl story Matilda, Year 3 have been developing their oracy skills while working collaboratively in small groups to design their own fantasy schools.
The children discussed their ideas, listened carefully to one another and agreed on what to include in their designs. They created imaginative learning areas, including a Pokémon Training Area, a Magic Library, a Cooking Area and an Inventions Area, alongside exciting leisure areas such as a swimming pool, fairground, gaming zone and magical portals.
As part of the project, we explored the purpose of maps, where we might see them, such as at a zoo, and how a key helps us understand different features. The children then created their own map keys to accompany their fantasy school designs.
The children demonstrated excellent speaking and listening skills, worked brilliantly as a team and thoroughly enjoyed bringing their creative ideas to life. Who knows—Miss Reece might even be inspired by some of their fantastic ideas!
Well done Class 3!
