Birch Class' weekly blog

 

We have had our first full week in Birch Class. Things have been very busy and we learned so much! In maths, the children have been working hard to write their numbers and order them. We have made number lines going up to 20 and down from 20 and found missing numbers on the number lines too! In English, the children have been writing about themselves and their friends. They have worked so hard to use their phonemes to spell words and I have been really pleased with the writing they have produced. 

We also began our art unit which is all about the colour wheel. The children learned about how primary colours can be mixed together to make secondary colours. We conducted an exciting experiment with food colouring, glasses of water and kitchen roll to create a colour wheel. The children loved watching the coloured water soak into the kitchen roll and start to mix together to create new colours!
