Welcome back, everyone! We hope you’ve all had a wonderful and relaxing summer filled with happy memories, adventures and plenty of fun.
As we begin a new term, we’re excited to welcome all our children and families back. A new school year brings new friendships, learning opportunities and exciting experiences.
We’re looking forward to working together with you and making this a fantastic year for everyone. Here’s to a brilliant start to the new term! 🌟
Below is the homework outline and expectations for this half term:
Cedar
Class Homework Expectations
1. Spelling:
Every week, you will be given 10 spellings to learn which are
linked to our spelling teaching for that week. You will be checked on
the spelling that you have learnt every Thursday.
2. Creative Homework:
Every half term, the
children will be given a list of activities to choose from. A chosen homework
to be completed every week and handed in
on a Monday.
3. Times Tables:
You must practise your times tables every day for 10 minutes (or
longer) using TT Rockstar’s. You have been given login details for you to
access this at home.
At home, you can choose the times tables that you need to practise
using the Jamming section of TT Rockstar’s. The order in which times tables
should be learnt, are the following: X 2, X 5, X 10, X 3, X 4, X 8, X 6, X 7, X
9, X 11, X 12. Until confident, you can use a times table sheet to help. When you
can complete a times table without the times table sheet to help, move onto the
next times table.
The 2027
statutory Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) for Year 4 pupils in England will
be administered by schools within a two-week window starting on Monday, 7
June 2027
4. Reading:
You need to read at home to an adult 3 or more
times a week. The adult who has listened to you read at home must write that
they have heard you read in your reading record. Your reading record will be
looked at every Thursday.
It is important to read your school book at home as this is at
your reading understanding level.
