Birch Class' weekly blog

We have been busy again in Birch Class!

We have been doing lots of reading and practising writing words using the new graphemes we have been learning. The children have also started writing about our new class book, Puffin Peter, about a little puffin who gets lost. They have written some creative sentences and are beginning to use linking words such as ‘but’, ‘when’ and ‘because’.

In maths, we have been learning about part-whole models. The children did really well at breaking numbers into two parts and developing their understanding of the composition of numbers.

We have also been getting ready for our Harvest Collective Worship. The children painted pictures of fruits and vegetables using autumn colours such as red, orange and yellow. They were very proud to show their pictures during the Harvest service.

Well done, Birch Class, for all your hard work this week!
