Forest School Fun!

Image
Forest School -Year 2 Today at Forest School we played Forty-Forty Home, during which the children had great fun hiding and running around! After that, we had a very busy session with den-building, mud-kitchen creations, ‘cement’ mixing, weaving, clay pot making and fire-lighting. We used a Kelly Kettle to heat water for nettle tea or hot chocolate (these came as either standard or luxury…with a marshmallow and whipped cream!) The children had a brilliant time organising the Forest School cafe and worked together to take orders and prepare the cups. It has been a pleasure to see the children enjoying time in nature, letting their imaginations be free and build friendships and social skills along the way. At the end of the session, we reflected on what we had learnt about ourselves during all of the Forest School sessions. Many of the answers included the realisation that being outside was more fun than being inside or that they had learnt not to be scared of something. It was fantastic...

Our Year 5s successfully completed their assessments last week, while our Year 6s tackled their mock SATs with determination and focus. Both year groups performed amazingly well and should be very proud of themselves. To unwind, we had a fun-filled PE lesson , playing different games to develop and adapt our skills in a variety of ways. We also had a fantastic visit from Heads2Mind , where we learned about positive thinking , expressing our feelings, and using different strategies to support our mental well-being. Well done, Class 4! 🎉 PE After two resilient weeks of assessments, Class 4 enjoyed some well-earned fun in the sun ! Using their teamwork, agility, and strategy skills , they played a variety of mini-games , reinforcing their PE skills in an exciting way. It was the perfect way to wind down and celebrate their hard work! 🌞 Heads2Minds Class 4 had a fantastic session with Heads2Minds ,...

Year ones went on to publish their poem in their books and practiced reading them allowed.  The children have practiced their counting and reception children made number bonds to 10 using tens frames and Numicon pieces. Year one continued to work on measurement. They made comparisons between length, mass and volume.  The children have also been very creative this week when making cards and crafts for Mother's Day.

Class 2's busy week

What a fantastic and busy week we've had in Class 2! We were lucky to have a visit from the charity Head2Mind , where the children took part in a workshop all about feelings and emotions. They explored the idea of the 'weather' inside their bodies and learned some calming breathing exercises and techniques. It was wonderful to see them expressing their thoughts and emotions so clearly! In Maths , we have been exploring equal groups and introducing the multiplication symbol. The children have enjoyed working practically and developing their understanding of this key concept. In English , we revisited our knowledge of verbs and adverbs with a fun sorting activity and some fantastic sentence-building exercises. The children showed great enthusiasm and creativity in their work! Our Science lessons took us into the world of habitats and microhabitats. We discovered the different places animals and plants live and how they depend on their environments to survive. Collabora...
