Class 4's week of learning

Crafting, Storytelling & Volcano Debates! This week, the children really got into the Christmas spirit! We spent time being creative as we made biscuits and crafts to sell at our festive market. The children absolutely loved the experience and put so much effort into their creations. Earlier in the day, we had been discussing giving to charity and helping others during our RE lesson, so it was wonderful to see them raising money to support our community. A big thank you to all the adults who came along and donated — it was lovely to see you in class and to share this festive experience with you. In English, we continued working on our narrative unit using Starbird , and today we also introduced a beautiful new text: Zeraffa Giraffa . The children were so engaged, and we heard lots of thoughtful partner talk. They had so many ideas to share, and it is fantastic to see their oracy skills developing so confidently. In Geography, we had even more brilliant discussion as we debated the ...

🌿 Nature, Knots & New Ideas at Forest School

Image
In Forest School this week, we enjoyed the rope swing again, practised tying knots and even spotted some pheasants! The children worked together to move a pallet so they could see the field behind the Forest School area, which helped them spot the pheasants more clearly. There was also lots of creative crafting with friendship bracelets, elder bead making, and even some exploring with the leftover conkers. We saw fantastic perseverance, teamwork, and imaginative ideas throughout the session. The children are really beginning to make the forest their own now, and it has been wonderful to see.

Aladdin Pantomime

Aladdin Pantomime What an incredible afternoon we had at Darcy School this week!   Our children were treated to a fantastic performance of Aladdin  and the excitement could be felt from the moment the lights dimmed. The cast brought the story to life with colourful costumes, lively music, and plenty of laughter. From the magic carpet ride to the mischievous Genie, every moment had the children completely captivated. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, with pupils joining in, singing along and eagerly anticipating what would happen next. Experiences like this create lasting memories and spark the imaginations of our young learners. A huge thank you to the PTFA for generously funding this special event. Their continued support helps us provide enriching opportunities that go beyond the classroom. We are incredibly grateful for all they do for our school community. What a magical afternoon!
